Mobile Photography – “Streets Ahead” Interview with Gina Costa
This week, the Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective (Streets Ahead) is extremely pleased and honored to feature Gina Costa in our interview section. As you will quickly glean from this article, Gina is very knowledgeable in the fine arts… especially photography. Not only is she a Museum curator, but she also teaches Art History at various colleges and universities. So, before I start to bore you with an introduction rant, how about I just let Gina’s words speak for herself? For those of you who are being introduced to Gina Costa for the first time, be prepared… ‘cuz you’re in for a real treatt And for those of you who…

Streets Ahead – Eighteenth Edition
Welcome to the Eighteenth edition of “Streets Ahead,” a weekly column dedicated to women mobile street photographers. Please be aware that this week’s showcase is a little longer than usual. Why? Well, many of us associated with The App Whisperer were busy socializing in a London meet-up last week… so, unfortunately, some work didn’t get done. Anyway, this week’s column is a combination of the past weeks . And believe me when I say that this was an incredibly difficult showcase to curate… because the quality of images that are submitted to he Flickr Group are absolutely gorgeous.,, and very inspiring! If you are not a member of our Facebook…

Mobile Photography – Streets Ahead Interview with Grace Brignolle
This week, the Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective (Streets Ahead) is pleased and honoured to feature Grace Brignolle in our interview section. I first met Grace very briefly on a visit to New York last year. I wasn’t aware of her work until then and I started to follow her on Instagram. Her composition and sense of timing made her images stand out to me, and I became an avid fan of her work. In her words, ‘the streets are her inspiration’ (see feature in ‘Hipstography'”) and through her eyes we catch glimpses of an array of street scenes around New York city and its environs. You can explore more…

Mobile Photography – Streets Ahead Interview with Lee Atwell
The Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective (Streets Ahead) is extremely pleased and honored to feature Lee Atwell in this week’s interview. When I first learned about Lee’s work, it was immediately clear to me that she is an artist who definitely walks around with a pair of keen and sensitive eyes… because each one of her images is made up of beautiful compositions, textures and colors. Yet at the same time, she touches upon (and brings out) an emotional, almost spiritual, “feel” to her subjects and landscapes. It is has been a real joy and privilege getting to know Lee and work more completely… and it is highly recommended that…

Streets Ahead Interview: Jeanette Vazquez
This week we are extremely pleased to feature Jeanette Vazquez in our interview segment of “Streets Ahead.” I was really happy when Jeanette agreed to do this interview… because I’ve been following her photography for several months now. And what I admire most about her work is that, at first glance, I think I am seeing just a simple ordinary candid shot. But when I pause and look more closely. I inevitably find myself discovering more layers. Jeanette is clearly an artist who relies on her eyes, emotional connections and instincts to dictate her artistic decisions… not words or “stories.” We hope you enjoy her interview. And after reading this…
