Getty Images – Grants for Editorial Photography
We all believe that photojournalism is a powerful tool for telling compelling social, political and cultural stories. We also understand that creating and managing world-class photography assignments requires time, freedom, support and considerable resources. That is why Getty continue to offer the Grants for Editorial Photography, which in 2015 will provide five total grants of $10,000 each to photojournalists pursuing projects of personal and journalistic significance. Since its launch in 2004, the Grants for Editorial Photography celebrate and support independent photojournalism, evidenced by the many dynamic and compelling projects completed over the years. Environmental Photographer of the Year 2015 – Last chance to enter!
The Atkins CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year competition is an international showcase for the very best in environmental photography and film. The competition is free to enter and offers an exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society and a total prize money of £8,000, including awards for young photographers, film and a solo show. The competition provides an opportunity for amateur and professional photographers of all ages to share images of environmental and social issues with international audiences, and to enhance our understanding of the causes, consequences and solutions to climate change and social inequality. Open, Youth and Mobile Phone winners revealed for 2015 Sony World Photography Awards, the world’s biggest photography competition
The Open and Youth winners along with the inaugural Mobile Phone winner of the world’s biggest photography competition, the Sony World Photography Awards, are announced today. Drawn from the four corners of the world and covering a huge range of subjects, the winning Open, Youth and Mobile Phone photographers were chosen from over 96,000 entries to the 2015 SonyWorld Photography Awards.
