The Mobile Masters Second Edition has already been approved by Apple and will be available in iTunes on Saturday May 3, 2014. The Eye International Photography Festival Returns For A Second Year
Following on from the hugely successful inaugural event in 2012 details have been announced for the second EYE International Photography Festival which will run from 27 – 29 June 2014. The 2014 festival sees another high quality line-up of guest artists, including one of the world’s leading documentary photographers, Ian Berry, who was invited to join Magnum by Henri Cartier Bresson. Getty Images Offering $130,000 Grants to Editorial & Portrait Photographers
We have mentioned this previously, see here, but just as a reminder, photographers have until 15 May to submit their work for a chance to win one of this year’s Getty Images Grants. This year, as it celebrates the programme’s 10-year anniversary, Getty Images will be offering six Editorial photography prizes, three Creative Grants for non-profit organisations and photographers, and one Portrait award – totalling $130,000 in cash prizes. In the Grants for Editorial Photography category, Getty Images will present five $10,000 prizes, which will be awarded to photojournalists pursuing personal projects of journalistic significance. Truth and Memory – British Art of the First World War
This looks like a fabulous exhibition that we have just received details of directly from The Imperial War Museum London (IWP). IWM London presents the largest exhibition of British First World War art for almost 100 years. This major retrospective comprises over 120 artworks and will feature the most iconic images to emerge from the First World War, including paintings by Paul Nash, Percy Wyndham Lewis, CWR Nevinson, Stanley Spencer and William Orpen, as well as lesser known, yet significant works, by artists such as Anna Airy, George Clausen and Gilbert Rogers. One area we have been thinking about adding to theappwhisperer.com for some time is reviewing and highlighting iPad Photography magazines.
