Amazon’s App Store Launches, Then Goes Down
Amazon were in a positive frame of mind last night when they rolled out the long awaited App Store for Android. It was going swell with newbies to the store being rewarded with a free copy of Angry Birds Rio, definitely something to chirp about. However, things have just gone pear shaped and the store is down. It’s probably just a few teething problems and surely nothing to do with Apple’s Lawsuit with the App Store patent – we will see, stand by and we’ll keep you informed… By the way, any apps you have already downloaded to your phone should still be working fine…

Tesco Mobile Reports Android Outselling iPhone
Tesco Mobile, one of the UK’s leading networks has confirmed that their sales of Android smartphones have surpassed Apple iPhones for the first time. There has been a shift as before Christmas, Tesco Mobile witnessed Apple iPhones outselling Android smartphones by two-to-one. However, January saw a rapid increase in Android smartphone sales which resulted in like-for-like sales, and in February this year Android smartphones overtook iPhone sales on the Tesco Mobile network. Google has released an update for its official Google Reader Android application. The new update brings two new home-screen widgets, a ‘mark previous as read’ button and Russian translations.
