New Projects – Our New Form of Artistic Installation aka ‘The Quilt’ Is Ready!
We’re delighted to inform our readers that the quilt that so many of you contributed to, has now been completed. For those of you not aware of this project, it involved mobile artists contributing one image and each one was then carefully included within a large quilt to be displayed at the next gallery show or even Mobile Arts Festival. There has been a few obstacles along the way and we have overcome each one. This quilt was sewed together and finalised by none other than mobile artist, Lorenka Campos’ mother in law. A wonderful man first and foremost and secondly, a wonderful mobile photographer, who we sadly lost last week. New Mobile Photography Workshop – With Meri Walker and Annie Helmsworth in Alaska!
I am delighted to announce a fabulous new mobile photography workshop hosted by Meri Walker and Annie Helmsworth. Over the past two years, sharing their passion for iPhone photography in social media both Meri Walker (aka iPhoneArtGirl) and Annie Helmsworth (aka Elfin Kennel), developed a deep connection. With Meri living in southern Oregon and Anne in rural Alaska last summer they joked back and forth about Meri hitchhiking to the North Pole Alaska to see Anne and her mushing team, this set the wheels in motion and the two mobile photographers began exploring in earnest for a way to meet (and possibly teach together) in person. Welcome to the 32nd edition of “Streets Ahead.” My Goodness, it’s hard to believe that we’re now in our 30’s! It’s also hard to believe that we’re already a few months into 2014. Yep.
