My key word for 2021 is ‘Optimism’. Sounds unlikely I know, but I am not deluded. If we don’t have optimism how can we get through the next day? 2020 has been an unstable and blistering year and the idea of making New Year Resolutions for 2021 seems overwhelming. Sontag argued that beleaguering the public with sensationalist photographs of war and poverty was a definitive way to numb the public’s response.
