New Apple Invitation For January 19, 2011
Apple has sent out invites today for a press event to be held in New York City next Thursday, January 19, 2011. There have been and still are many rumors circulating as to what Apple will be announcing. The most likely one though is that this event will concentrate on iBooks with education majoring. Steve Jobs was determined to ‘shake up’ the textbook market and perhaps this event will mark the start of that… We’ll be covering this event, so check back for that.

As we’re sure you’re all probably aware, iBooks is an amazing way to download and read books. iBooks includes the iBookstore, where you can download the latest best-selling books or your favorite classics – day or night. High Resolution Display May Well Be Coming To iPad 2 In Any Case
The rumors are still circulating, will the Apple iPad 2 actually have a higher resolution display or not? Some say no but many are now saying yes. The iBooks 1.1 application is being updated to support the higher resolution of 2048 by 1535 resolution, this is around the same resolution as the 27" Apple Cinema Display. There is also the additional rumor that the larger, 1536 pixel wide background tile would be app friendly in that it could scale to desktop resolutions, allowing a desktop app. This is still speculative but interesting nonetheless.
