Mobile Photography – TrueView Interview – ‘Why I Create Self Portraiture with a Smartphone’ with Eliza Badoiu from Romania
Our TrueView Interview section is an area where we ask one singular question, to mobile photographers and artists and it is captured to video. This time, we asked highly accomplished Mobile Photographer and Artist, Eliza Badoiu from Romania, to consider and answer ‘why I create self portraiture with my smartphone’. It is an interesting question to ponder, there are over 1.8 billion photos shared around the internet each day, many of these are selfies. The difference, we feel in our questioning is that we are asking artists. Therefore, do artists take self portraits because it gives them the opportunity to view themselves from the outside? That a considerable amount of…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 1 October 2017
Shallow sleep dreams are the sources of many of my best ideas, when my pillow starts to vibrate, I set the long snooze function, hovering between consciousness. Once I have an idea, I scrutinise, explore and practice it. I then reshape that idea into other forms of art, dance, music, stage, I keep it turning for more and more possibilities. I develop a script and then I deliberately lose it, an idea is only a map, to find the treasure I have to walk it, experience and develop it. Development then takes on another form, it cannot be produced from a place of safety, that’s just dull. Locations have emotional…

Mobile Photography – TrueView Interview – ‘Why I Create Self Portraiture with a Smartphone’ with Violet Martins from Brazil
Our TrueView Interview section is an area where we ask one singular question, to mobile photographers and artists and it is captured to video. This time, we asked accomplished Mobile Photographer and Artist, Violet Martins from Brazil to consider and answer ‘why I create self portraiture with my smartphone’. Martins created the video below and replied in text to this thought, “The reason I take self portraitures, is because I can! I don’t have to ask and I can edit as I imagine as I go on“. I would say that knowing Martins, as I do there’s more to this than meets the eye. If we are to consider that…

Photography – Capturing Watson – An Interview with Albert Watson
I am a huge fan of Albert Watson OBE, so when Taschen sent me this interview, I thought I would share it with you too. Watson has just completed a new book with Taschen, entitled KAOS. The book is not only oozing with dazzling subjects but also, the well known ravishing Taschen quality, of which, there’s nothing really like it. KAOS spans nearly half a century of photography to encounter stars, statesmen, women, and strangers; bound through neon-blazing cities; find figures poised, gymnastic, or shimmering with nude eroticism; roam the bright lights and the backstreets; soak up extravagant sunsets; enter the controlled studio environment; and breathe in the elemental wilds…

These days, I’m driven to create work with a more photorealistic feel, so I’m currently using apps less than in the past. That said, here are…
