LoryStripes – New iOS Photo App From The Developers Of Tangent

The photo app development team at Pixite LLC, the makers of the Editor’s Choice photo effects app Tangent, in partnership with Italian architect and designer Laurent Rosset, are proud to announce the next musthave photo effects app, LoryStripes for iPhone. Designed to elegantly personalize any photo, LoryStripes approach is oneofakind. Users enhance images by adding beautifully crafted ribbons and lines, or Stripes, drawing out elements in the photo while adding elegance and zing to it. Professional graphic artists have used similar techniques in advertising and artwork, but this is the first time these techniques are accessible to artists and nonartists alike.

The LoryStripes experience is simple as well as delightful. Users choose an image from the Camera Roll, select a Stripe, adjust it, and weave it throughout the different elements in the photo. When users first use the Stripes, they will be amazed at what they actually are. The Stripes are not flat twodimensional overlays, which is the norm even for professional artists using highend graphic editing software, but are actually carefully crafted 3D objects that can be positioned, scaled, and tweaked by simply swiping across the touch screen.

You can read more about LoryStripes below. It retails for $1.99/£1.49 and you can download it here.

The technology behind LoryStripes is a feat in itself. The app uses OpenGL ES 2.0 to take advantage of the iPhone’s advanced graphics hardware, allowing LoryStripes to create fully threedimensional Stripes that render at photo quality in real time. The technology allows users to naturally move the Stripes on the screen, creating a photo editing experience like no other.

Once LoryStripes users have enhanced their photos, they can either opt to share their creations seamlessly to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter with just a tap or “ReStripe,” a feature that allows the user to save their creation and continue adding more layers to their photo. This unique feature alone means that the creative possibilities for LoryStripes are truly limitless.

“For a long time, I was searching for a way to personalize each of the photos I take everyday. Something elegant and beautiful that would enhance each photo and make it more mine. What I landed on was LoryStripes,” says LoryStripes creator, Laurent Rosset.

“At first I added these enhancements to my photos on the computer using stripe overlays I carefully created. The more I shared my photos and overlays, the more I discovered that the Stripes were exactly what other artists were looking for. Now that LoryStripes is available on the iPhone, it’s easier than ever to add style and elegance to any digital photo.”
