Welcome to our First Edition of our “StreetWise” Flickr Group Showcase. StreetWise is a column dedicated to mobile street photography and photographers throughout the world. Vivi Sacerdote Hanson and Sheldon Serkin are the editors of this column and will regularly review and curate work that was submitted to our StreetWise Flickr Group. In addition to creating a showcase video which features a sampling of submitted work, we also highlight a few images that caught our attention… offering some thoughtful commentary about technique, composition, and subject matter. If you are not a member of our Facebook group… we highly recommend that you join us! This is our space for sharing newsworthy information and conducting discussions (what, when, where, why and how) about Street Photographers/Artists and Street Photography, in general.
This week Vivi has curated and commented on the images in our first StreetWise Showcase, I am sure you will enjoy this, please take a look…

‘Landing’ – Lee Atwell
Lee is an amazing street photographer, she captures incredible details from such interesting angles and POV’s. This photo has so many wonderful lines, beautifully processed in Black and White and then bam, the wonderful pair of legs walking exactly on a line!!
‘Time is an Illusion’ – Michelle Robinson
I just love Michelle’s editing of this photo! Everything blurred out and then incredible colour both in the wall and the woman, with a wonderful contrast of a red hat!
Untitled by Dominique Torrent
What an eye to capture this tender moment. I want to know if these are a couple or a parent with a child! Beautiful view from a window, great scene
‘Polka Dots’ by Julia Nathanson
I look at this and think – is she wearing pyjamas underneath her coat? Such a fabulous capture, beautiful coloured walls and the fact that there is only half of this lady in the shot makes it very interesting. She is wearing so many different colours and patterns!
