Anca Balaj is one of the finest mobile art draughtsman of her generation. As a visual creative, specialising in mobile photography and art direction, her practice combines a natural interest in academic research and literature to create a unique and radical style of mobile painting in which the conceptual meets the visual.

Balaj’s art is created with an Apple iPad and is intended to be scaled up into larger works where her economic execution and whimsical expression reveal an intimate side to her practice. Her imagery is very direct, working empirically, ‘inside an idea’.

Her rigorous style of fine art emphasises a dynamic but balanced relationship between complementary colours such as blue, red, green and orange, completing each other. They are at their most intense when placed together. Balaj adjusts her colours to obtain the maximum intensity.

Balaj is destined to be one of the decisive influences in mobile art and we are proud to represent her.

Sarah Bichachi’s art underlines the concept of the impermanence of life – one of her main sources of inspiration. The processes of genesis, metamorphosis and inevitable disappearance, as well as the symbolic correspondences between earth and body, are her starting points. Bichachi’s photographs offer great poetic beauty brought together in a superbly elegant and enigmatic way that compels a shiver of aesthetic pleasure and fear. Bichachi is a cancer survivor and each piece of art embodies her courage, resourcefulness, physical toughness, talent and relish. Her art is a springboard for a tremendously charismatic and muscular outstanding performance, brilliantly crafted and deliciously entertaining – a metaphor for the fleetingness of life. “True success radiates love, compassion… a sense of well being and a feeling of accomplishment not only for the body, but for the soul as well”, she once confided to me.

Award Winning artist Maria Cecilia de São Thiago, is a photographer whom resides in Brazil, South America.

São Thiago’s photographs are exquisite and allegorical in nature. Their vitality is instrumental in pulling the viewer into a very intimate world chronicling the self and beyond.  Mysticism and spirituality have long informed São Thiago’s practice and she is refreshingly transparent about her work.  She once told me, “my photos carry in each of them everything that I have learned, what I have lived, and what I have suffered”. 

We have all brushed up against the sublime feeling of wonder, with sudden realisation that we do not know. Viewing Sao Thiago’s images enable us to recreate that emotion, allowing ourselves a bit of wonder, with the potential to forget what we think we know and to revel in the immediacy of the magic of her work, holding us close, as we unravel.

Influenced by two great Viennese modernists, Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt, it’s fascinating to view the concision and extremely intelligent images that São Thiago creates. Each as luxurious, immediate and above all, tender to the next. 

Our collection of São Thiago’s work is the largest available and each print is strictly limited to one signed edition in each size. 

Paul Suciu works in the suspended moment and captures some sense of the invisible or at least the latent within his photographs. His work is a form of storytelling, his images visually narrate the viewer towards the conclusion, as if they were physically there. He has a unique visual sensibility with a quiet alertness that you can sense within his images, echoing his own presence as a photographer and that as a man. Many of his images combine architecture and transport with a human element, unifying a deeper conviction, to strive to create images that push beyond the expected. Ones that offer inventive and artful ways of looking at the relationship between the architectural environment and the humans that inhabit them. His street photography usually includes no more than two people and usually just one. He explores the ordinary and the familiar, there’s a sense of drama to each shot which can be magnified and made transformative. Suciu photographs are realism meeting psychological equity – it’s all located in a sort of familiar landscape and terrain but it’s gracefully transformed and made ephemerally mysterious.

Multi Award Winning Photographer Jane Schultz, from Pennsylvania, United States is an experienced mobile photographer and artist best known for her unique self portraiture. Schultz is the star of her own images and her images are enigmatic. In many, Schultz appears to lay herself bare, physically and metaphorically, her images cryptic but candid. She creates mystery surrounding her ideas and all of her images have this ethereal wonder about them with ambiguity drawing the viewer in. 

Schultz’s images have been exhibited in museums, art centers, and galleries on an international basis, including in Florence, Rome, and Paris, and featured in numerous publications for photography and mobile artistry.

To have someone interpret our story, to know what we’ve endured, experienced, sustained and to vocalise it back to us, is what we all most long for. Peter Wilkin’s art meets us at this level, perhaps offering the ultimate allure, to have our own story retold to us. Yearning, moribund, caring, all brush up against each other in this selection of art, you can edge right up to it, be captivated, with another, through another, into the purest vestal from where we came. 

Wilkin’s previous occupation as a psychotherapist has much to do with his understanding of our needs to be understood. His art radiates and throbs off the page, each one suggestive of another outcome, if the viewer approaches the art with inner knowledge, then they will bask in a sort of awakening, a path, on which to return and reel from the bliss.

Award Winning American artist Christine O Sobczak, is a photographer that resides between Wisconsin, Chicago and Vero Beach, Florida. Sobczak received her BFA in photography in 1994 and thus began her career as a Fine Art Photographer. 

Several elements distinguish Sobczak’s photographs, the use of natural light and the use of purity of forms, all close to pictoric. Sobczak’s work primarily focuses on the portrait, an artistic genre that she depicts by emphasising ‘the art of divination’ a nod to her inspiration the author Raymond A Moody.  Standing in front of her images, the viewer is encouraged not only to view but to think, deeply. Immutability ensues, loosing the notion of time and inviting constant reflection. Lured into the flow imbuing a sensorial experience, offering a glimpse of peace and spirituality, her images make us relive our own memories while, simultaneously wanting to be part of her own. 

Our collection presents three photographs, considered together, they install a mediative sense of harmony and upon closer inspection, nuances in lighting, composition and overall tone reveal themselves – fixing the viewing experience to one of verve, vitality and soul.

Sean Hayes is an award-winning photographer whose work has been selected for exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Milan, Brussels and Paris. In 2012, Sean was awarded an Honorable Mention in the landscape category of the Mobile Photography Awards and 2nd place in the people category of the MPA 2013. For the 2015 MPA, he received honourable mentions in the Black and White, Portraits and Photo Journalism categories. He also won 3rd place for his Photo Essay of Irish landscapes. For the 2016 MPA, he received Honorable Mentions in the People, Landscape and Transport categories. Sean lives with his Belgian wife and children in Brussels and works as a professional photographer and advertising art director.

Award winning mobile macro photographer Jill Lian is based in New York, United States. It is clear that Lian is interested in both art and science, as her macro images project the perfect combination of these interests. Her images are aesthetically pleasing whilst unmistakably scientifically captivating. Her work brings light to a whole new world that is so often overlooked, she is fascinated with this micro world full of colours, textures and relief. Not only does Lian find good subjects to photograph, she composes the images so undeniably well that the viewer is eternally gripped.

Multi award winning, Italian landscape mobile photographer, Gianluca Ricoveri knows there are thousands of ways of making love, perhaps there’s only one way of making ‘art-love’. Art for Gianluca Ricoveri is the concrete embodiment of love, it is what lovers create. Ricoveri’s art is superbly accomplished, it fulfils and there’s something overwhelmingly spiritual about his work. It tugs us forward, yearning for more, suspended in passion with revelations to its hurricane climax.

Gianluca Ricoveri was born in 1950, he has always been devoted to the art of painting and photography and experiencing the interaction of one genre with another.

In 2012 he discovered iPhoneography, enabling him to blend disparate means of expression. Ricoveri was granted the opportunity of showing his art in personal Exhibitions in Pisa, Lucca, Asuni, San Gimignano and Florence at FIPA 2015. He has also been chosen many times as “The Artist of the Day” in IPA and the ‘Picture of the Day’ at P1xels. He also received an honourable mention at AX3.

Mobile Street photographer, Susan Rennie first became interested in photography in the late 1960’s whilst a doctoral student at Columbia University. Spending many an afternoon roaming the galleries of MOMA, photographing viewers looking at the artwork (there were no restrictions on photographing artwork at that time). As she developed these images in her makeshift darkroom, she realised an epiphany. Her images told stories. As a natural story teller from childhood, she had now, by altering the medium, defined the frame to let the story unfold. 

Heavily influenced by a wide range of photographers including Lyon, Frank, Arbus, Kertesz and Friedlander. However, it was after taking an eight week master class with Lisette Model, that Rennie was utterly seduced. The Street Photography seed had been planted.

Lorenka Campos has progressively established herself as a fine art mobile photographer, winning awards and taking part in a number of exhibitions throughout the world. Her work is immensely captivating, her images show their inner selves and of the paradox they portray – the paradox of the unstoppable exposure of frailty against raw and enduring strength.

Campos is known for her highly emotive portraiture work. Her style is born of imagination with a storyteller’s heart. While attending Florida School of the Arts, Campos fell in love with the magic of the darkroom and the unlimited possibilities of graphic design. It was this combination that eventually brought her to mobile photography and art. 

Today, she is an Award Winning recognized leader in the Mobile Art and Photography community. Her work has been recognized in international competitions, featured in numerous publications and exhibited worldwide. Campos lives and works in Texas, USA.

Breznik’s photography leans towards the melancholy—but in Breznik’s hands, this emotion could be defined as ‘sorrow with a purpose.’ She utilizes her sensitivity to conjure up a romantic beauty in her images: images which are self-portraits but have a universal appeal within.

Breznik has always felt comfortable in front of the camera. When she is modeling for her portraits, she does so with music playing, garbed in fabulous vintage clothes. At their best, these sessions transport her to another world, one where her alter-egos can fully emerge. The characters are varied: a Queen will emerge, serene, royal, strong but with vulnerability. Or a figure drawn from the Pre-Raphaelites period, containing tragedy mixed with great passion and beauty.

Although the outward changes seem dramatic, she actually strives to keep make-up to a minimum. Her most dramatic way to change appearance is by sculpting natural light. With care, she is able to create deep shadows, strong lines, vivid contrasts, all of which create natural depth and definition.

Breznik first took up photography 10 years ago after picking up a bunch of old Polaroid cameras. She loved working with Time Zero film, which gave her ample opportunity to manipulate the images. When she heard about new smartphone apps which simulated Polaroid photography, she felt compelled to try them out. From 2010, Breznik began using the iPhone exclusively and her dedication to the boundless possibilities of mobile photography was settled.

Having used a variety of different tools over the course of her photographic career, Breznik concludes, “In the end it doesn’t matter what you shoot with…it’s the final image that matters.”
