Mehmet Ömür’s Photography, iPhoneography and the Creative Beyond May 20 – 30, 2024 We are delighted to announce artist/photographer Mehmet Ömür’s 2024 workshop that will build on your current photography and iPhone skills and then stretch your creative muscles with some new ones. Mehmet was born in Istanbul and discovered his love of photography in the early 70’s, using a Kodak Instamatic 100 camera. Despite his demanding career as an ENT surgeon, photography remained a passion, albeit one he could not fully pursue at the time. Book Launch – A Joyous Representation of Mobile Art Visualised Through the Quilt Project
I am delighted today to announce the publication of the Mobile Art Quilt Project Book. Now, arguably considered to be one of the 21st century’s most important poetic pieces and a defining staple of mobile art. It is a piece of literature and art that was inspired by the creation of the physical Mobile Art Quilt which showcases 234 pieces of art created by individual mobile artists throughout the world. Each artwork stands on its own, with its own structure, meaning and symbolism. You Brought Your Own Light, a New Book of Transgender Portraits
A book of transgender portraiture showcasing the work of award-winning photographer Allie Crewe has been published by Axis Projects Publishing this July 2020. You Brought Your Own Light is produced by Alan J Ward and brings together 26 of Allie’s revealing Transgender portraits, including the image of Grace, a doctor, which won the BJP Portrait of Britain 2019. I happily spent this morning/early afternoon with Tracey Emin at a press invitation to her brand new exhibition entitled ‘A Fortnight of Tears‘ at the White Cube, Bermondsey, London, SE1. This is a major exhibition installed throughout the gallery’s spaces, exhibits include sculpture, neon, painting, film, photography and drawing, all focusing on Emin’s own memories and emotions, arising from loss, pathos, anger and love.
