New iPhone 5S Rumored To Have 12-Megapixel Sensor And More…
Tinhte.vn a Vietnamese site that has been reliable in the past with Apple iPhone rumors has mentioned that the new iPhone 5S will come with a 12 megapixel sensor, better low light shooting capabilities as well has HDR shooting and ‘other features’. The information coming out right now is still very scant, but I would well imagine that the sensor will be increased and as well as that a lower aperture for improved low light conditions is quite likely too. If you recall, when the iPhone 4S was announced back in October 2011, the rear camera was increased from 5 megapixels to 8, with improved video capture of 1080p, from…

Irish Tinkers – Brand New Photographic iBook – Now Available
With many thanks to Nettie Edwards for bringing to our attention a great new iBook called Irish Tinkers that has just become available to purchase from the Apple iBookstore. Irish Tinkers has been created by Janine Wiedel, who actually took these photographs over a period of five years in the 1970’s. Janine has created a charming sensitivie timepiece that not only rewards us with stunning portraiture but also great insights into this fiercely independent ‘ethnic group*’. About the Author Janine Wiedel, was born in New York City and has been living and working as a documentary photographer in London since the early 1970s. Her distinguished career has tended to focus…

Through the implementation of advanced eye recognition technology, Smart Video recognizes the position of the viewer’s eyes and automatically plays or stops the video without any manual input from the user. Hipstamatic TinType SnapPak Review
We’ve just published this comprehensive review by Egmont van Dyck on the recently launched TinType SnapPak by Hipstamatic. It’s very extensive and we think you’ll enjoy this a lot, over to you Egmont (foreword by Joanne Carter). “With the release of Hipstamatic’s new Tintype lens and two accompanying film cartridges recently there has been a very positive response throughout the social network system. I myself immediately downloaded the new SnapPak and after just two exposures, felt it was necessary to do an extensive lens/film test, since the results obtained were intriguing. It was Hipstamatic creative director Aravind taking the lead on how to bring the old traditional look of…

Etchings – iPhone Photography App Review
As a postage stamp collector from way back, my eye is always drawn to any artwork that has elaborate etching work. This app, by MindSea Development Inc. allows the user to “…. instantly create beautiful etched illustrations from any photo!” (MindSea.) Recently updated, Etchings doesn’t have much in the way of “bells and whistles” in it’s platform but it does truly deliver etched illustrations…simply and elegantly. It is currently available for $0.99 in the App Store. It also offers an in-app filter set for an additional $0.99. (Compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.) Click here to download. I took a look at Etchings just…

Polaroid Manufacturing Android Based Camera
Popphoto.com a magazine that I have written for in the past, picked up on a rumor that Polaroid are manufacturing a new ILC running Android. In fact, they have gone so far as to confirm it with Polaroid, this is very unusual, this kind of thing is usually shrouded in Non Disclosure Agreements (NDA’s) but perhaps due the fact they intend to announce it at CES next month, things are a little more ‘relaxed’. Known at the moment at least as the Polaroid IM1836, is an Android 4 powered camera with interchangeable lenses, 18 MP, 3.5 inch touchscreen, pop up flash, wi-fi, HDMI, panoramic and blink detection features and possibly…
