Firecracker Photographic Grant 2014 – Applications Now Open
The Firecracker Photographic Grant is an annual award providing funding for a female photographer, to aid in the completion of a documentary photographic project. Through a combination of self-initiated fundraising and with the generous support of Genesis Imaging, the Grant fund is a minimum financial contribution of £1,000 plus £1,000 credit of professional printing, mounting and framing services from Genesis Imaging. Applications are open to women photographers born or residing in Europe and submissions are judged by an independent panel of industry specialists from a cross section of disciplines and sectors, including picture editors, commissioners, art buyers and gallerists. Adobe Youth Voices Awards – Winners Announced!
Today, the winners of the Adobe Youth Voices Awards have been announced. Adobe Youth Voices is an online competition inviting students aged 13-19 from across the globe to use digital media to express their vision for driving positive change in their communities. Winners are chosen from seven categories: animation, documentary, photography, music video, narrative, poetry and campaign poster. · A record 2,400 students from 50 countries submitted projects · The 21 winning projects were chosen from a pool of 142 finalists, and over 200,000 public votes were cast. · Winners are showcased on the Adobe Youth Voices website 
Nico Brons – Graduates With A Masters Degree In iPhone Art
Nico Brons is a very well known and accomplished mobile photographer and in December 2013 he graduated with a Masters Degree of photography with iPhone Art. He graduated from the Photo Academy, the largest and most ambitious establishment to study Photography in the Netherlands. This graduation project was undertaken solely with the iPhone. Brons created a book with iPhone art and poetry. He contacted a Arjen van der Linden, a poet from Amersfoort to make poetry with his images, it was a fabulous collaboration. The books consists of 60 pages, 25 images and 25 poems and some introductory text. Further on there is music to accompany the images and poetry.…
MIRA Mobile Prize – Mobile Photography Competition – Final Call
This is the final call for entries to the wonderful MIRA Mobile Photography Competition – the deadline for submission is 15 June 2014. This competition is free to enter and is juried by a highly respected and experienced international group of individuals (including myself)! Fifty images will constitute the short-list and these will be exhibited at the MIRA Forum – this will be launched on 6 September 2014. There’s a beautiful award for the winner – five nights in Porto, this includes accommodation and food and a return trip from any European capital.

The Lumen Prize Exhibition – Call For Entries
The Lumen Prize Exhibition, an international prize and global tour for digital fine art, has opened the call for entries for its 2014 prize. The 25 exhibition works, which will be selected by an eminent jury panel of art experts including Bruce Wands, the Founding Chair of BFA Computer Art Department at the School of Visual Arts, New York City and Doug Dodds, Senior Curator at the V&A, will travel to Cardiff, London, New York City, Athens and Amsterdam.
