Apple Guide For Porting Content From Your Android Device to (new) iPhone

2014-09-17 / Comments Off on Apple Guide For Porting Content From Your Android Device to (new) iPhone

Apple are in full throttle, the sales of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices are exceeding all expectations (well perhaps not theirs), so, they’ve launched a special guide to help new iPhone users move their content from an Android device. It’s packed with information, whether you want addition support with mail, photos and videos, music, books, documents or of course apps, it’s all there. As Tim Cook described earlier this month with The Wall Street Journal, ‘the mother of all upgrades’ will persuade Android users to switch to an iPhone as they are ‘appreciably better in every single way’. To view the new guide, go here.

Vintage Scene Photography App Now Available for Android

2014-03-26 / Comments Off on Vintage Scene Photography App Now Available for Android

Vintage Scene by JixiPix has long been a very popular app on the iOS system and we’re really pleased to see it port over to Android today. It offers the mobile photographer the opportunity to give their images a retro look, using a unique algorithm which combines, sepia tone, grain, darkened edges, distressed paper all at once. Along with that though, it gives the user control to edit each component for their individual look. Vintage Scene is available at Google Play for £1.19 or equivalent in your country and you can download it here.

Nokia welcomes Android developers – TheAppWhisperer

2014-02-24 / Comments Off on Nokia welcomes Android developers – TheAppWhisperer

Today at Mobile World Congress, Nokia unveiled five new affordable handsets including a new family of smartphones debuting on the Nokia X software platform. Based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), and backed by Nokia’s deep ties with operators, the Nokia X platform gives Android(TM) developers the chance to tap into, and profit from, a rapidly expanding part of the market. The launch builds on Nokia’s leadership in delivering innovation to more price points with its family of Lumia smartphones, and the latest momentum for Windows Phone. “Today Windows Phone is the fastest growing mobile ecosystem in the world, and we continue to see incredible momentum with our Lumia…

Will Nokia Launch An Android Phone This Month?

2014-02-11 / Comments Off on Will Nokia Launch An Android Phone This Month?

Well that’s the rumour, The Wall Street Journal reports that Nokia will launch its ‘Normandy’ phone at Mobile World Congress later on this month. WSJ goes on to say that Nokia engineers had been developing the Android phone before Microsoft stuck the $7.4 billion deal to buy their mobile-device business. ‘The decision to release the Android phone underscores how badly Microsoft and Nokia each miscalculated in the mobile market. For technical reasons, Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system doesn’t yet work on the low-cost smartphones that have become big sources of growth, particularly in emerging markets’. We’ll be reporting all this and more news from the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona…
