Visualising Mobile Photography and Art Interview with Christine Mignon from Vienna, Austria
Today, we are publishing our nineteenth visual interview, this time with Christine Mignon from Vienna, Austria. Mignon absorbs not just the streets but humans in nature too, alchemizing them into mesmerising and intricately constructed mobile images. As a photographer she nudges mobile photography to its limits, as an artist she is uncannily commanding. Mignon’s images lie within the genres of street and landscape and nature and within each it is the human element that leads. I sense it and also having met her in London, I feel intuitively that’s what she seeks. Many of her street scenes are romanticised, and that’s no bad thing. Streets are hard and hardness is often seen on…

Mobile Photography – StreetWise Winter 2017 / 2018 Showcase
“I love the people I photograph. I mean, they’re my friends. I’ve never met most of them or I don’t know them at all, yet through my images I live with them.” Bruce Gilden Hello Everyone! Thank you for submitting your images to StreetWise Flickr group for our ‘Winter Showcase.’ We were touched by the soulfulness and warmth of your photos – beautiful winter scenes (whether in tropical or snowy settings) of people (and animals) looking out windows, windows as frames, windows reflecting cityscapes, people in public transportation, carrying umbrellas, lone figures in urban landscapes and photos of people connecting hand in hand, or embracing one another. Even in the…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 23 July 2017
“The desire for security and the feeling of insecurity are the same thing. To hold your breath is to lose your breath. A society based on the quest for security is nothing but a breath-retention contest in which everyone is as taut as a drum and as purple as a beet“, as said by Alan Watts in his book ‘An Antidote to the Age of Anxiety’. As we are drawn to this weeks mobile photography and art showcase, we witness artists’ security and their insecurities. Essentially, in this world, there is no security and yet we are all guilty for trying to grasp at it. Our anxieties are linked to…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 16 July 2017
Seduction has its own narrative and this weeks mobile photography and art showcase is arranged accordingly. How far you can go is a question in art, as in life and in mobile art life, there’s no limit. It’s been said that the art of seduction is rarely seductive but this of course depends on your own view, function before fantasy or vice versa. In England, a psychological study revealed the secret that it’s said history’s greatest seducers have known all along, a sense of humour. Particularly and most likely biased, a British self-deprecating humour apparently. The most important thing is not to take ourselves too seriously, outlaw pomposity and self…
