In the UK we have a literary award of which, it is of no honour to win. It is the Bad Sex Award and each year since 1993 an author is honoured who has, in the opinion of the judges, produced an outstandingly bad scene of sexual description, in an otherwise good novel. The results of which, I always find interesting to read, notwithstanding the reviews too. Is it wrong to find it laudable? Mobile Photography – Instagram Takeover with @Psychephoto – Days 5, 6 and 7
Our first ever Instagram TAKEOVER has been a huge success and all our thanks go to @psychephoto – Robin Cohen for this. We entrusted her with the keys to our Instagram account and she has honoured us all with her thought provoking curation, compassion and care. Cohen is a respected and talented artist, a professional psychoanalyst and perhaps more importantly, to me personally at least, a good friend. Laying the foundations of Mobile Photography and Art, this weeks Flickr group showcase is as much a meditation on great art as it is also of human passion. Every artist, moreover, perhaps every human knows, has experienced, is experiencing or seeking, passion. Passion does not have to mean sex, or ‘intelligent sex’ as Robert Mapplethorpe described his ‘ideal passion’. This week has been an interesting one, half way through it I spoke with highly talented mobile artist, Jane Schulz on the telephone. Now hearing is not my forte, as many of you know, it comes with the territory of being severely to moderately deaf but I do try. I like to think of myself more as a listener.
