LG Builds on Sucessful G7 Series Platform with Two More Accessible SmartPhones

At IFA 2018, LG Electronics (LG) will be introducing two exciting additions to the G7 series of smartphones with the LG G7 One and LG G7 Fit. Building on the foundation of the advanced LG G7 ThinQ, both of the new phones offer a balance of premium features and exceptional prices for discerning customers.

Many consumers today are turning their attention to legacy flagship smartphones which are seen as offering better values compared to the newest mid-range models. These customers aren’t satisfied with mediocre components but also don’t want to pay for over-the-top features in some of today’s premium phones that they will never use. The challenge is finding the smartphone with just the right balance.

LG Re-Imagines Green Urban Living At The Chelsea Flower Show

Oh, this is definitely my kind of garden! The annual Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show is currently taking place and this year, I’d say, it’s more gorgeous than ever. If you’ve not visited before, as always, it is in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, SW3. It was first held in 1913 and it is the world’s premier exposition for flower and landscape gardens, attracting visitors from the world over.

In this year’s edition, LG’s Eco-City Garden is one of ten show gardens filling the Main Avenue and we can now confirm that this garden has been presented with the Show’s Silver Gilt medal for it’s ‘unique and innovative approach of integrating technology and nature to address today’s urban environmental issues’.

LG Electronics and Korean landscape architect, Hwang Hay-joung collaborated at the Chelsea Flower Show, with LG Eco-City Garden featuring a variety of innovative, environmentally-friendly technologies alongside today’s state-of-the-art appliances. LG Eco-City Garden shows how consumers’ increased dependency on technology can coexist with the environmental issues posed by contemporary lifestyles, as well as help reduce pollution in areas of high population density.

This is LG’s second project collaboration with Hwang, the first being LG Smart Garden at the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show, also a Silver Gilt medal winner. This year, Hwang integrated LG’s Internet of Things (IoT) technology with a model of a modern apartment to demonstrate sustainable urban living. For example, Hwang incorporated LG’s intelligent air purifier system controlled by the SmartThinQ app on the G7 ThinQ smartphone into her design.

LG Smart Garden highlights self-sufficiency and efficiency through the use of renewable energy in the form of solar panels that power LED lighting to produce the perfect conditions for plants to grow. The home is designed with its own spacious terraces, accessed from the kitchen and designed to receive plenty of sunlight. Plants and trees not only soften the visual impact, they play a role in controlling the indoor climate and filtering the air, while running water helps modulate noise pollution.

The showcase demonstrates closer interaction between concrete, glass and the greener environment. The naturalistic planting scheme shows how to incorporate wildflowers, perennials and a looser meadow-style planting into a garden. The aquaponic urban farm system nourishes a vertical vegetable and herb farm with nutrients generated from fish waste.

LG Launches New Smartphone with Two Screens and Two Selfie Cameras

Today LG took the wraps off its newest smartphone featuring multimedia capabilities never before seen in a mobile device. The first of its V Series phones, the LG V10 was designed to provide a rich multimedia experience both consumption and creation for today’s social network savvy consumers. Distinctive new features such as a Second Screen, Dual Front Cameras and Manual Video Mode differentiate the LG V10 from the competition. All this comes wrapped in a design that utilizes high-grade stainless steel and a durable silicone skin to make the V10 one of the rare smartphones to pass drop tests for shock conducted by an independent third party.

Always pushing the boundaries of smartphone innovation, LG is introducing a Second Screen as an inset display above the main 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display on the V10. Working independently, the Second Screen can be set up as an “always on” display to enhance the V10’s productiveness all without impacting battery life. Set the Second Screen to display the weather, time, date and battery icon when the main display is off. With the main display on, the Second Screen can be set to convert to a dedicated launching area for shortcuts or your favorite apps. What’s more, when you’re enjoying a movie or game on the V10, the Second Screen will notify you discreetly without blocking your view when a call or text comes in. Ignoring the notification won’t distract you from your enjoyment or you can pause whatever you’re doing to respond.

Wide angle images usually require a large, heavy lens which can distort the corners of photographs. The LG V10 features 5MP Dual Front Cameras with two separate lenses to capture standard 80 degree selfies or perfect wide angle selfies of 120 degrees, without the need to pan the smartphone which increases the likelihood of camera shake. For the wide angle shot, the V10 employs a sophisticated software algorithm to combine images from the two separate lenses which are just far enough apart to provide two different points of view. The ability to take group selfies without a selfie-stick has never been easier. Multi-view Recording can capture different angles utilizing all three cameras on the V10. Select and insert the version that looks best in your masterpiece.
