There is an area of photography that really interests me, actually it’s a ‘technique’ rather than an ‘area’ and it is applied in combination with ‘co-counselling’. It is called ‘visual reframing’ and essentially one image is examined (at a time) and each person discusses what it represents to them and how they would like to ‘change it’. This is not to mean ‘change it’ in the sense of photo manipulation but therapeutically change the impression of what we think it is about. Mobile photography and art has a way of forming, shaping and holding in front of our eyes something we feel inside. It’s about storytelling, enabling viewers to develop a narrative of their lives and relate to their own experiences, in a new way. And, it is for this reason that I have curated and published this weeks showcase.
