Following Jobs’ announcement today at the WWDC of the new ‘Reading List", one of the many fab new features coming with iOS 5, Marco Arment vented on Twitter – ‘shit’. Hmm, I think this update may make just a few developers quite edgy. Arment went on to Tweet ‘Glad I’ve invested in social and editorial features. Not dead yet!”. Apple iPhone 5 Shipping In September 2011
This could be yet another rumor but it looks pretty close to the real thing this time. Reuters tweeted late last night saying ‘FLASH: Apple suppliers to start production of next-gen iPhone in July, Aug; begin shipping in Sept – sources". Previously we were led to believe that Apple would begin production in September and ship in October. This latest rumor could be more likely though and Apple may only concentrate on software at this years WWDC and leave the hardware for later on in the year when they could push this closer to a Christmas time rush on sales. We’ve just been sent this Press Release from Apple announcing the WWDC on June 06, 2011 through to June 10th. Phil Schiller went on to mention, ‘at this year’s conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS, if you are an iOS or Mac OS X software developer, this is the event that you do no want to miss’. iPad 2 Not Expected Until Summer 2011 – Rumor
Businessweek are reporting today that according to a research note from Yuanta Securities Co, Apple are suffering with ‘production bottlenecks’ at their manufacturing plant, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Accordingly, this may well delay the launch of the iPad 2 to June 2011. Apparently, Apple made some changes to the iPad 2’s design just before the Chinese New Year and this has held things up. We’re disappointed, we can’t wait to get our hands on the new thinner, lighter, faster magical device.
