Wow! This weeks’ mobile photography and art Flickr Group Showcase is incredible. Following my curation and creation of the showcase, I watched it several times. It reminded me of a letter by Fancesca Woodman to Giuseppe Gallo in 1980. Woodman was recovering from prolonged sickness and she read ‘the complete works of Proust’ which thoroughly inspired her. She said “I’d really like to create a work of art like that, rooted in and linked to everyday life, but addressing questions of great scope”. This beautiful showcase offers immense scope. We have just completed this epic showcase of The Best Mobile Photography and Art images of 2014. All of these images were in our favourites section of our Mobile Photography & Imagery Flickr Group. We have painstakingly worked our way through over 8,000 favourited images, from an original of over 115,000. We’re so pleased to announce the NEM Kansas City 2014 Mobile Photography Exhibition Opening Reception this weekend September 5, 2014 and continues through to September 30, 2014.
