Mobile Photography Tutorial – Ansel: Channeling a Master or Taking his Name in Vain?

    2015-07-02 / 2 Comments

We are delighted to publish Jerry Jobe’s latest mobile photography/art tutorial for our reading and viewing pleasure. This week Jobe takes a look at the mobile photography app, Ansel. Read his thoughts as he puts it through its paces (foreword by Joanne Carter). Ansel retails for $0.99/£0.79 and you can download it here. “As you might guess from the title of this article, I think it’s a gutsy move to name your app after one of the greats in black and white photography, Ansel Adams. His name and several of his images are familiar to anyone who takes even a passing interest in photography. He’s known for his painstaking attention…

Camera+ Gets Stripped From The App Store

2010-09-15 / Comments Off on Camera+ Gets Stripped From The App Store

As we and many others reported yesterday, Camera+ violated Apple’s developer agreement by ‘hiding’ an update to their hugely popular app after Apple had already rejected it. However, tap tap tap, the developers behind Camera+ then gave instructions via Twitter on a ‘workaround’ allowing users to use the volume button as the shutter. Obviously this was picked up by a lot of blogs and consquently got back to Apple who promptly kicked…

eBay Buys RedLaser – the barcode scanning app for iPhone

2010-09-15 / Comments Off on eBay Buys RedLaser – the barcode scanning app for iPhone

News just in is that eBay have just announced that they have bought RedLaser, that cool barcode-scanning app that we have reviewed previously – eBay have also acquired all related technology from it’s developer Occipital. RedLaser has had over 2 million downloads from the App Store. eBay will integrate RedLaser’s app into its iPhone apps, including their eBay Marketplace, eBay Selling, StubHub and Shopping.com. RedLaser was originally available in the app store for $1.99 but eBay have now made it free and will be integrating it into more than 200 million listings…
