New Projects – Our New Form of Artistic Installation aka ‘The Quilt’ Is Ready!
We’re delighted to inform our readers that the quilt that so many of you contributed to, has now been completed. For those of you not aware of this project, it involved mobile artists contributing one image and each one was then carefully included within a large quilt to be displayed at the next gallery show or even Mobile Arts Festival. There has been a few obstacles along the way and we have overcome each one. This quilt was sewed together and finalised by none other than mobile artist, Lorenka Campos’ mother in law. New Mobile Photography Competition – MIRA Mobile Prize 2015 – FREE To Enter
I am very pleased to announce the new MIRA Mobile Prize Competition is open for entries. This is the second year of this popular competition and I am delighted once again to have been asked to join the Jury. MIRA 2014 Mobile Photography Exhibition This Weekend!
This weekend is a truly fabulous one to bask in the glory of mobile photography and art. Not only is there the NEM Kansas City 2014 Mobile Photography Exhibition, as mentioned here but also there’s the MIRA Mobile Photography Exhibition in Porto, Portugal, opening 6 September 2014 at 1600 hrs. Fifty artists have been shortlisted for this exhibition hosted by Manuela Matos Monteiro, with an illustrious Jury (including myself). We are utterly delighted to publish this weeks’ Flickr Group Showcase, so many of you have been completely inspired! Your work is exceptional, eminent and phenomenal. We lead this week with a wonderful image by lorenka61 – this image really struck a chord with me. It reminded me of Mya Angelou’s first book ‘I know why the caged bird sings’ and of course, unfortunately she passed on this week, so I thought this would make a wonderful lead image.
