      2012-09-19 / 6 Comments

The Olloclip lens system consists of three lenses. A wide-angle, fish-eye and a macro lens. The Fisheye lens captures approximately a 180 Degree field-of-view and produces some striking images. This is the second tutorial by Andrew Proudlove and once again it contains valuable and excellent tips to get the most from your fish-eye lens. If you missed that previously, you can read it here. Foreword by Joanne Carter Of all of the different lens types that you can use with pretty much any type of camera, the Fisheye is one of those types of lenses that has a polarizing effect – you either love it or hate it. The funny…

Olloclip Tutorial – How To Create An Incredibly Artistic Macro Image With An Olloclip

      2012-08-13 / 2 Comments

The Olloclip lens system consists of three lenses. A wide-angle, fish-eye and a macro lens. The macro lens magnifies your image roughly around ten times. It allows you to get close to focus on your subjects with your iPhone, usually within 12 to 15 mm of your subject. In this tutorial I take you through the steps necessary to recreate this incredibly artistic macro image.   Step 1   I arranged the daisies in a short vase and set them against a black velvet backdrop in natural light. I used 645 Pro on my iPhone 4S with the Olloclip macro lens attached. My film choice was FC5 in a 6×6…

Olloclip Tutorial – Macro Insect Photography

      2012-08-09 / 4 Comments

The Olloclip lens system consists of three lenses. A wide-angle, fish-eye and a macro lens. The macro lens magnifies your image roughly around ten times. It allows you to get close to focus on your subjects with your iPhone, usually within 12 to 15 mm of your subject. In this tutorial I talk through my experiences when using the macro lens on the Olloclip. We are still in the midst of winter in Australia but the unseasonably warm weather has brought out some creatures, one of which was this adorable caterpillar.   Step 1   I use the app 6×6 for almost all of my macros. I find it the…

Olloclip Tutorial – Creating Abstract Images With The Olloclip Macro Lens

      2012-08-08 / 6 Comments

The Olloclip lens system consists of three lenses. A wide-angle, fish-eye and a macro lens. The macro lens magnifies your image roughly around ten times. It allows you to get close to focus on your subjects with your iPhone, usually within 12 to 15 mm of your subject. My instructions for this tutorial sounded like something from Mission Impossible….. “Mr. Hayes, should you accept this assignment you must create abstract images using only the Olloclip macro lens. Your images must show what is possible with this lens and not rely on your skills with apps….” (sorry about that David, actually sounds a bit like a James Bond assignment, J). Okay…I’m…

Olloclip Tutorial – How To Use The Olloclip For Product Photography

      2012-08-07 / 4 Comments

The Olloclip lens system consists of three lenses. A wide-angle, fish-eye and a macro lens. In this tutorial we demonstrate how to create product photography shots using the macro lens of the Olloclip to enable you to sell items on ebay , Etsy or for insurance purposes. Many of us sell online…whether it’s on Etsy, Ebay, or elsewhere…and know the importance of good images when it comes to selling your item. Not only do you want your “product” to stand out from all the others, you also want to make sure the prospective buyer knows what they are buying. This is particularly important if the product is a “vintage” item…

Olloclip Tutorial – How To Create A Stunning Wide-Angle Abstract Art Image With An Olloclip

      2012-08-06 / 12 Comments

The Olloclip lens system consists of three lenses. A wide-angle, fish-eye and a macro lens. In this tutorial we demonstrate how to create an incredible wide-angle abstract photograph using the Olloclip wide-angle lens. The wide-angle lens allows for approximately double the field of view of the default iPhone. This feature is great for taking landscapes, architecture and interiors but it also lends itself to more creative work too. In this instance, using the wide-angle lens, it has allowed the flower image from a reasonably close focusing distance to appear very large and striking. The photographer in this instance has used this to great effect and created a very unique image…

Olloclip Tutorial – Creating A Stunning Macro Flower Image, Using An Olloclip

      2012-08-03 / 4 Comments

The Olloclip lens system consists of three lenses. A wide-angle, fish-eye and a macro lens. The macro lens magnifies your image roughly around ten times. It allows you to get close to focus on your subjects with your iPhone, usually within 12 to 15 mm of your subject. With the Olloclip macro lens I had to learn how close to get to my subject in practice and when to back up. Initially, I tended to get in very close to my subject and then have to back up to get some kind of focus.  It does help to have your iPhone on some kind of tripod/support to keep your hand…
