Kristen R Ghodsee has published a thoroughly researched exploration proclaiming that capitalism is bad for women. She argues, adopting some ideas from socialism ‘women will have better lives’ and of course, this includes sex. Ghodsee, an acclaimed ethnographer and professor of Russian and East European Studies, spent years researching what happened to women in countries that transitioned from state socialism to capitalism. In this book, she analysed many facets of a woman’s life – work, parenting, sex and relationships, community and authority. OlloClip announces new Pro and Intro lenses for mobile devices
OlloClip, the company behind some of the best known add-on lenses for mobile devices, has introduced two new collections aimed at either ends of the market. Add-on lenses are conversion lenses that alter the focal length of the lens on your mobile device and are a convenient way of expanding functionality. A new Multi-Device clip aimed at attaching the lenses to a wider range of devices has also been added to the range. This folio from US manufacturer Waterfield is a little different to the majority of bags and cases on the market. I like cases and bags and by that I don’t mean I like them because I can carry things and take it all somewhere (which of course is the purpose of any bag) but that I take an interest in bag design.
