Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 26 June 2016
“Never say you know the last word about any human heart”, a quotation by Henry James from the rich tapestry of a book I am currently reading, Any Human Heart by William Boyd. Art links all around us and we need to be able to tie it altogether, to make it whole. Human expression within this weeks mobile photography and art Flickr Group Showcase, speaks to us. Worldly wise, yet perilously frail, many of these images demonstrate the agony and ecstasy of love and life lived. This weeks showcase is a wholly humane romance and a worthy treat for all of us. Enjoy! If you would like your work to…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 5 June 2016
“However long your stay on this small planet lasts, and whatever happens during it, the most important thing is that-from time to time-you feel life’s sweet caress” and so continues the wistful prose of William Boyd’s 16th novel, Sweet Caress, that I have deeply indulged this week. Boyd is a brilliant novelist and I highly recommend our readers enjoy this tale of a fictional female photographer, in this brilliant story of a life well lived. It engrosses with a level of detail that I often hanker for. This weeks’ mobile photography and art flickr group showcase overwhelms with a narrative all of its own. With a resolute, all encompassing, technically…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 1 May 2016
I have dedicated my entire life to the pursuit of creativity and I spend most of my time encouraging other people to do the same because living a creative life is the most beautiful life there is. In many ways, the human artistic expression is blessedly, refreshingly, non essential. John Lennon once said about the Beatles, “we were just a band”. Some of the most sublime occasions of my life have been when I have been inspired by all of the brilliant mobile photographers and artists that I have been lucky enough to surround myself with. The quality of the images submitted to our Flickr Group this week are so…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 24 April 2016
As I crashed spectacularly to the ground from my mountain bike early this morning, I was reminded of a dear friend talking to me about resilience. Not that I need reminding, I have met with enough adversity in my life to know that this is a psychological trait buried deeply into my psyche. There was nothing to do, I picked myself back up, swung my leg over the cross-bar, dropped a few gears and I pushed myself up the climb, I stood over my bike and I powered up that hill. The word ‘resilience’ derives from the Latin for ‘to jump again’. Mobile Photography and Art requires resilience, there is…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 17 April 2016
There is no silence more resounding than that of a cognitive communication malfunction. To be awake, to understand, to feel excruciating pain, to be aware of an existence but unable to reply. We all live complex and miracles of life, diverting us, pleasing us, frightening, transforming and defining us. We share so much, least of all our love for mobile photography and art. This weeks showcase explores profound emotional and visceral matters. It is an elegant and moving film, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. If you would like your work to be considered for entry into our weekly Mobile Photography and Art flickr group,…
