Mobile Photography – Portrait of an Artist – New Editors and Fifteenth Video Showcase!
We are delighted to announce two new editors will be joining us here at TheAppWhisperer to assist with our Portrait of an Artist popular mobile portraiture group. Jennifer Bracewell is currently taking a temporary break and we are very pleased to welcome Michelle Robinson and Ile Mont as co-editors. Memorandum of Sympathy and Sorrow on the Death of Arjan van der Horst – Showcase of Images and Tributes
I have been crying this morning as I created this showcase of all your messages and tributes to Ajan van der Horst. A wonderful man first and foremost and secondly, a wonderful mobile photographer, who we sadly lost last week. This weeks Flickr Group Showcase of mobile photography and art refuses to stay silent. The characters within and behind them slip out of their frames, enticing us to imagine the stories of their lives. It is rare and exciting to find such urgent visual imagery, full of persuasive language and strategies. And it is refreshing to sense that the pull of much of this work derives from artistic living, beyond fear. Art is a crushing chore and a tremendous privilege. I am delighted to publish the Seoul Museum of Art Flickr Group Showcase that I presented within my lecture this week on Wednesday 23rd September 2015. I cannot express the impact it made on the audience, they were all thoroughly captivated and mesmerised by your art and the accompanying music. When it finished, there were loud comments of ‘wow’ ‘that was incredible’ and more. The duration of this showcase is over 9 minutes, the audience were transfixed the entire time it played. New Mobile Photography Competition – MIRA Mobile Prize 2015 – FREE To Enter
I am very pleased to announce the new MIRA Mobile Prize Competition is open for entries. This is the second year of this popular competition and I am delighted once again to have been asked to join the Jury.
