    Mobile Photography & Art – Flickr/Instagram Group Showcase – 10 November 2019

    2019-11-10 / Comments Off on Mobile Photography & Art – Flickr/Instagram Group Showcase – 10 November 2019

Many people write to me each week and I love it. Sometimes, I am asked for advice, sometimes I’m asked about me. This week a few times, it was mostly the latter. I was asked, ‘how do you keep coming up with ideas?’, ‘where do they generate from?‘ and then ‘how do you deal with a creative rut?‘. I think the latter was the hardest because the first two I answered with ‘I’m constantly gathering ideas, things that I see each day, people I meet, observations that I make, judgements (I hate to say), but they all encapsulate and become the images and ideas that I’ve been having for the…

Mobile Photography & Art Saturday Poetry – ‘Countdown as Slow Kisses’ by Michael Wasson

2019-11-09 / Comments Off on Mobile Photography & Art Saturday Poetry – ‘Countdown as Slow Kisses’ by Michael Wasson

This weeks Saturday Poetry, matched with mobile photography/art is entitled ‘Countdown as Slow Kisses’ by Michael Wasson. “We are given these bodies—full of beauty, ache, and history—and are told to survive. We lean into joy and marvel, into our living, and yet we know that what we desire ultimately devours us. Might we surrender as we climax toward our gorgeous, unbearable ruin? This poem says yes”, explains Wasson. Michael Wasson is Nimíipuu from the Nez Perce Reservation in Lenore, Idaho. He earned a BA from Lewis-Clark State College and an MFA from Oregon State University. The author of Swallowed Light (Copper Canyon Press, 2021), Self-Portrait with Smeared Centuries (Éditions des Lisières, 2018), translated by Beatrice…

Brand New Mobile Photography iOS App – FiLMiC Firstlight

2019-11-08 / Comments Off on Brand New Mobile Photography iOS App – FiLMiC Firstlight

I am very pleased to announce the launch of this brand new photo app, FiLMiC Firstlight, from the team at FiLMiC Pro – not only did I impart a tiny bit of my own knowledge into it’s development (but don’t let that put you off), it’s an app that’s incredibly user friendly and perfect for image capture. It comes with a comprehensive set of advanced image controls including Auto Exposure mode for setting up shutter/iso combinations. There’s cross-swipe manual controls, allowing you to have the ultimate control over focus and exposure, if you desire. There’s more too with reactive analytics – this is something that set apart FiLMiC Pro in…

Mobile Photography Intimate Interview with Juta Jazz from Cyprus

2019-11-07 / Comments Off on Mobile Photography Intimate Interview with Juta Jazz from Cyprus

Our eighty third interview in this series of mobile photography intimate interviews is with talented mobile photographer and artist Juta Jazz from Cyprus, originally from Lithuania. When I asked her within this interview ‘what drives you on?‘, she replied ‘Something I can’t reach…‘ – this response touched me because isn’t that essentially what drives us all on?  I believe, in many ways, we can all answer this question in the same way but what is it, that we cannot reach? We see life through the lens of our earliest relationships, though we usually don’t realise it. Our conscious minds are tiny iceberg-tips on the dark ocean of the unconscious. Each…

Introducing Adobe Photoshop Camera – AI-First Camera App that Brings Photoshop Magic to the Palm of Your Hand

2019-11-05 / Comments Off on Introducing Adobe Photoshop Camera – AI-First Camera App that Brings Photoshop Magic to the Palm of Your Hand

The smartphone camera and social media have fundamentally changed the way people of all skill levels create and share their own stories. And while the industry has pushed the limits on hardware, the software magic for photography on your phone has been limited, so say Adobe. Adobe believe the world is ready for the next chapter, where it’s not just about more mega-pixels, but how you can tell your story in a unique way. Given Adobe’s mission to empower creativity for all, they’re excited to introduce Adobe Photoshop Camera, an app that re-imagines what’s possible with smartphone photography. Photoshop Camera is a new, AI-powered mobile camera app that brings incredible…

Adobe Fresco App Now on Microsoft Windows

2019-11-05 / Comments Off on Adobe Fresco App Now on Microsoft Windows

Released for iPad earlier this autumn, Adobe Fresco is now available on Windows, beginning on Microsoft Surface Pro X devices and Wacom MobileStudio Pro hardware. It provides a natural and versatile drawing and painting experience across devices by combining raster, vector and new Live Brushes. Powered by Adobe Sensei, the watercolor and oil Live Brushes mix and interact on the screen just as they would in real life. The product also allows artists to sync their favorite Photoshop brushes for a smooth roundtrip workflow between apps.
