The myriad of new material that greets me each Sunday morning in our Mobile Photography and Imagery Flickr group is always so full of hope and its a privilege to wake up to. This weeks Showcase is deeply and satisfyingly intelligent at its heart. It’s emotionally and intimately audacious but also compassionate, benevolent and warm. Perhaps what’s most extraordinary and moving about this body of work is the portrayal of modern day mobile photography and art psyche at its heart. Instagram TAKEOVER with Mimi Svanberg (@imagomimago) – End of Day 3 Through Day 5
This week we are following on with our new format of Instagram TakeOver’s, this time with @imagomimago– Mimi Svanberg. She’s agreed to post three images to our @theappwhisperer Instagram feed over the course of seven days. Mobile Photography / Art – Saturday Poetry ‘The Nude’ by Yi Lei with Mobile Photographer Mimi Svanberg from Sweden
This weeks Saturday Poetry, matched with mobile photography/art is entitled ‘’The Nude’ by Yi Lei. ‘A leading figure in contemporary Chinese poetry, Yi Lei was born Sun Gui-zhen in Tianjin, China, in 1951. She studied creative writing at the Lu Xun Academy and received a BA in Chinese literature from Peking University. Yi Lei published eight poetry collections, and her work has been translated into Japanese, French, Italian, Russian, and English, notably by U. S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith. She also worked as a reporter for the Liberation Army and a staff member of the newspaper The Railway Corps. In 1991, she moved to Moscow, where she lived and wrote for…

Two weeks ago, we announced our brand new ‘Women’ section within TheAppWhisperer and we kicked off with our first ‘Talking Points’ with incredibly talented mobile artist, M. Cecilia Sao Thiago, where she visually channeled the creative argument of ‘what if I wasn’t me?’, envisaging herself as an artist whilst physically being a male, as opposed to female.
