Nikon Coolpix S800 To Have Android Inside
According to Nikonrumors this morning, Nikon will soon announce a new Android based compact camera. The model name will be the Coolpix S800. Nikon is expected to make this announcement at Photokina later on this year. We knew it was only a matter of time until this happened, afterall the compact camera market has suffered hugely with the popularity of the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S II and III to name just a few. It’s interesting, where does this leave us? Our phones have become our cameras and our cameras are becoming our phones. I think the vast majority of digital cameras will have Android inside before long. It’s…

Apple Ordered To State Samsung Did Not Copy Its Design For iPad
This article in Reuters caught my eye for two reasons, mainly as the Judge, Colin Birss, that instructed Apple to run ads saying Samsung did not copy its design for the iPad is actually known to me. In fact his daughter is in the same class at school as my little boy and I’m great friends with his wife, I’ve even photographed their garden. What a small world we live in 😉 You can read more about Colin Birss’ judgement below… Reuters report that ‘Judge Birss, who ruled last week that Samsung did not infringe Apple’s designs because its Galaxy Tab tablets were not “as cool” as the U.S.…

Sponsored Video – Samsung Memory
Samsung have commissioned a series of three videos as part of their latest campaign highlighting Samsung Memory. The idea behind it is that Samsung Memory has been designed to keep your general use energy needs down across all of your devices. Samsung mobile devices now come with a 70% power saving, less energy means reduced overheads, shrinking infrastructure and slashed operating costs. Samsung Memory is the smallest ever created, allowing for ultra slim mobile devices, such as of course the gorgeous Samsung Galaxy SIII. This new memory can store twice as much data giving your device faster processing speed and operating power too. This campaign is not just about memory in…

Sponsored Video – Samsung & SXM Release New Hilarious Fact Checkers Unit Episode Number 6
I’m a big fan of James Franco, he’s an excellent and highly respected American actor. I particularly enjoyed his role in 127 hours, this latest New Fact Checkers episode is a lot more funny though and he plays the part very well. In this video, which is part of a Sponsored Post to promote the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.3, Franco is on the run trying to keep a secret from the Fact Checkers Unit. Celebrity magazine Fact Checkers Dylan (Brain Sacca) and Russell (Peter Karinen) discover a photograph of Franco (via a Samsung Galaxy Note 5.3) of Franco looking pregnant, in his second trimester in fact. The pair use their…

News – Apple’s iPhone 5 Will Have Larger 4.6-inch Display
Reuters are reporting this morning that following a South Korean media report, the new Apple iPhone, presumably named the iPhone 5, will have a bigger 4.6-inch retina display and will launch in the second quarter of 2012. The Maeil Business Newspaper reports that ‘Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch display for its next iPhone and has started placing orders to its suppliers’. Apple’s major suppliers are LG Display and Samsung Electronics Co, characteristically they both declined to comment. If you’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone, then you will be aware that this device uses a 4.6-inch OLED display, hopefully we’ll be seeing a high definition retina display…

Look What Samsung Have Cooked Up – An Android Controlled Oven
Well how about that, Samsung have just launched a brand new ceramic oven that can be controlled by an Android App. The app itself has 160 dishes to choose from and once you select one, over your Wi-Fi network, the oven will start cooking your meal. The oven can also speak to you and tell you how many calories the food you’re preparing has and also the weight. This sounds perfect, now all I need is a chef….anyone? You can read more about this oven here. via, unwiredview

With the PPI rurmored to be be more than 264 on the new iPad 3, twice the 132 PPI on the iPad 2, questions are beginning to arise as to whether display manufacturers such as Samsung or LG could produce them in large enough numbers. According to a ‘source’, via CNET, ‘they have production plans for 2048 x 1536 displays, starting in November but those are only plans at this point’, apparently the source was referring to LG and Samsung.
