Italian Brother – A Photographic Journey…
This truly has been one long year, which at times almost felt rushed up! I know! You might be thinking: January is far-gone, what is he mumbling about! Well, I was just thinking about my photographic year, I am reaching my first anniversary and I cannot believe that only yesterday I was sitting in Richard Gray’s iPhoneography class, at least this is what it seems, and yet, almost a year has passed. The good thing, however, is in less then a month I will be enjoying his tutorials again! This has also been such an eventful year, full of surprises, and every day was one from which I’ve learnt and…

This week Richard discusses the ‘history’ of photography in his own very special humorous way, don’t miss this. (Foreword by Joanne Carter). Over to you Richard… “I love Hipstamatic’s recent Tintype SnapPak, which includes the C-type (or cyanotype) film. In the words of the Hipsta blurb, this “film” adds a hand-painted quality to your portraiture” (not sure why they mention portraiture in particular – it does allow you take photos of non-portrait things). Some interesting things…

The App Nerds Workshop – Exclusive – Ali Jardine Feature
The App Nerds Workshop is something very different and we are very excited about it. It is a virtual classroom, an environment for new talent to share their work, for Lola to share some of the ways she uses apps and for the not so new talent to share some secrets. Lola will sometimes assign broad themes to keep the creative juices flowing. We are hoping this will be a grand scale creative interactive classroom. This should be where sharing and creativity abound. We are hoping your mind will be tickled into creating, experimenting, daring, dreaming, making, doing. We have set up a Flickr group where you can submit your…

Where else can you read original content like this? Over to you Richard. (Foreword by Joanne Carter). Slightly afraid I might be stepping into a PC minefield with this one, but here at Anatomy we like to push the boundaries a bit so let’s give it a go. I was on my way to meet a couple of friends at the über trendy Soho House in the ultra trendy Shoreditch with my wife last Saturday night (he says, already putting himself in…

Italian Brother – ‘Inspiration’
“Inspiration (from the Latin inspirare, meaning "to breathe into") refers to an unconscious burst of creativity in a literary, musical, or other artistic endeavour. The concept has origins in both Hellenism and Hebraism. The Greeks believed that inspiration came from the muses, as well as the gods Apollo and Dionysus. Similarly, in the Ancient Norse religions, inspiration derives from the gods, such as Odin. Inspiration is also a divine matter in Hebrew poetics. In the Book of Amos the prophet speaks of being overwhelmed by God’s voice and compelled to speak. In Christianity, inspiration is a gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Wikipedia came to my help). Inspiration, then, is the…
APPart – Mel Harrison Gets Raw And Personal
My muse left! She packed up and disappeared into the night without so much of a note, let alone a forwarding address. I was left staring at a blank screen, zip… Nada… Nothing. Left to my own defences I pulled a pear out making school lunch for my little fellow who started school this week. The leaf grabbed my attention straight away because it is rare to find one on a supermarket bought pear. I gently put it aside and went about my day. It was a shitty day, hot weather with lots of stuff that drained me emotionally so I cut that beautiful pear in half… Then sewed…

So when I mention that I’m currently over in New…
