Mobile Photography – Portrait of an Artist Spring Challenge
Welcome to our Fourth Portrait of an Artist Challenge. The theme of our new challenge is “Floral Portrait”. I think of this challenge as a welcome to a new cycle, a reconciliation with nature, beauty, color and all the good feelings and sensations the Spring brings with it, after a cold and dark Winter. This is a very special challenge entirely dedicated to the loving memory of Carolyn Hall Young who seemed to grow flowers everywhere she touched, especially our hearts. Dates for submission are from 21st February through 31st March 2017. Please read the following instructions: All submissions must be posted ONLY to our specific Portrait of an Artist Flickr…

Mobile Art – APPart Interview with Wanphen Sangkamee aka: Gummy
We are huge fans of Wanphen Sangkamee aka: Gummy’s mobile artwork here at TheAppWhisperer and absolutely adore this interview between our APPart editor, Bobbi McMurry and Gummy. Please sit down, put your feet up and enjoy this wonderful article with us, for a few minutes in your day (foreword by Joanne Carter). Key: Bobbi Gummy I love animals though cows and fish aren’t likely to be top of mind when I think of them that is unless they created by Wanphen Sangamee. There’s a sense of childlike honesty in her painterly strokes and simplistic palette that I don’t see very often within the realms of mobile art. Picasso once said,…

Mobile Photography – StreetWise – Tenth Challenge “Lines in the Street”
Welcome to our Tenth StreetWise Challenge ‘Lines in the Street.’ This is a fun theme for a challenge and a prevailing one in photography! “While we are working, we must be conscious of what we’re doing.” Henri Cartier-Bresson Many street photographers when they go out taking street photos are looking at how they can create strong compositions with the use of lines. Others have predominant lines in their photos without intentionally searching them out, but, the inclusion of lines can help make the image a strong one. Lines are a powerful tool for directing the viewer’s eye and attention to the main subject of a photograph. Compositional lines can be…

Personal Mobile Photo Story with Marguerite Khoury
“Contentment with who we are allows us to be free of the pressure to stay everlasting young. Believing that time and ageing can be stopped, is a fairy tale. One of the many benefits of ageing is wisdom and the wise, are very beautiful”. (foreword by Joanne Carter). Photographs and text by Marguerite Khoury She was innocent. Looking at her reflection, smoothing out her hair. Lost in trance. Suddenly the sound of her mothers words echoed in her ears, stop looking at yourself. It’s not nice to be vain. What would you do if you where any more pretty?” Years passed and she never put much thought into…
