Apple Updates iPad Apps, Keynote, Pages and Numbers
Apple has just released updates to its Pages, Keynote, and Numbers iPad apps that add integration with its own MobileMe iDisk cloud storage as well as other cloud storage using the WebDAV protocol. Each app can now copy files from and save files to a users iDisk. Additionally, each app has received a number of feature enhancements and bug fixes. This suite of productivity apps was announced at the same time as the iPad in January and became available in the App Store right as the iPad was released in the U.S. The apps got their last major update in May. Fortune are running a report based on new research from Canaccord Genuity analyst T. Michael Walkley, it compares Apple’s performance in the mobile/smart phone industry to that of its competitors for the first half of 2010. Apple sold 17 million iPhones during the first half of the year, a tiny fraction of the 400 million handsets sold by top manufacturers Nokia, Samsung, and LG combined. Sanho – Manufacturer of HyperMac Products Feels Wrath of Apple in New Lawsuit
AppleInsider reports Apple has filed a lawsuit against Sanho Corporation, manufacturer of the HyperMac line of accessories for violation of patents relating to the MagSafe charger and cables that use the iPod 30-pin connection. The lawsuit filed this month accuses Sanho, based out of Sunnyvale, Calif., of infringing on six MagSafe- and iPod-related patents, covering a variety of products sold under the HyperMac brand. Among the products named in the suit are its magnetic power connectors, known as MBP-PRO and MBP-AIR, as well as a MacBook car charger, MBP-CAR.
