‘Nikon Lenses’ – iPhone App
Here’s a new iPhone app to hit the iTunes store, entitled ‘Nikon lenses’ – I was rather surprised that it wasn’t called ‘Nikkor lenses’ as that is by what they are known but nevertheless it looks like a competent app. The app is a guide to Nikon’s current lineup of F-Mount lenses used by both Nikon’s digital and film SLR cameras. You can view all the lenses at once or you can view lenses in a selected category. You have the ability to sort by aperture, minimum focal length and ESP (Estimated Retail Price). Apple – iOS 4.2 beta 2 and iTunes 10.1 beta
If you’re an iOS developer then head over to the Developer Center and download Apple’s latest iOS 4.2 beta and iTunes 10.1 beta to start testing with. This version is apparently less buggy and hopefully once this is approved, will officially be released it in November 2010. This beta is for the iPhone, iPod Touch – albeit not the first generation and the iPad. The release comes roughly in line with Apple’s typical timeframe of releasing betas every two weeks, as the first beta arrived September 15.
Over 1 Million iPhone Sales in South Korea After Nine Months
South Korea’s KT this week said it had passed one million iPhone sales after nine months of having the device in the country. The marker was passed on August 16, almost a month before the Korean iPhone 4 launch, and is known to be accelerating with the launch of the current model. KT is still trying to fulfill the now 350,000 back orders for the iPhone 4 and expects to have reached 1.2 million sales by early October. Apple’s device is nonetheless credited with sparking interest in smartphones in a country that had previously clung to traditional phones more aggressively than elsewhere. Video support added to PhotoToMac iPhone app
Galarina today released PhotoToMac 2.0 for iPhone and iPod touch. PhotoToMac now transfers photos and videos over Wi-Fi to a Mac folder. Transfers can be done in the background on iOS 4. PhotoToMac requires no cables, no internet connection, no browser and no emails with attachments. The only requirement is that the iPhone or iPod touch is on the same Wi-Fi network as the Mac.
