Official – 600,000 iPhone 4 Pre-Orders On First Day
Wow, now we know why the Apple and AT&T servers were choking, Apple have just officially announced they took 600,000 iPhone 4 orders yesterday – June 15th, 2010. AT&T’s official statement reads ‘iPhone 4 pre-orders were ten times higher yesterday than the first day of iPhone 3GS pre-orders a year ago. Therefore, the highly rumored prediction of 2 million shipped by June 27th, 2010 is really looking realistic – that’s if they can make them fast enough. Those wizards over at iFixit wasted no time tearing into Apple’s latest magical device, the Magic Trackpad, with one wave of their wands they discovered the true mysteries surrounding this device. Only there weren’t any really, it sports the same touchscreen controller chip as the iPhone, mean that Apple is continuing their trend of reusing bits and bobs across multiple devices – makes sense.
